SuRF, registered under the 1860 Societies Act in December 2001, has the mandate to operate all over Pakistan.

SuRF contribution to sustainable social development started happening many years ago. SuRF has provided technical assistance in the form of consulting advice for project design and development,  monitoring and evaluation, human resource in health (HRH), capacity needs assessment, training needs assessment, human resource development (HRD) in a number of areas including energy and environment conservation, climate change and adaptation, social and institutional disaster resilience, child survival and protection, family planning and sexual and reproductive health, access to justice, gender justice, governance, communication for development (C4D), strategic communication for behaviour and social change, among others.
